Foreign Education Exams

Foreign Education Exams are those examinations which are conducted on All India Basis for getting admission in Foreign universities/institutes. These are variety of standardised tests for pursuing studies or career in a Foreign country. It is also termed as "Overseas Education" or "International Education" as they are required to Study Overseas or Study Abroad. USA, Canada, UK and Australia are the most favoured destinations for studying abroad, but in recent times New zealand, Russia, Germany, Switzerland, France are also emerging as the top choice for studying abroad.

Foreign Education Examination Eligibility and Application Procedure
  • Information on Education Programmes are advertised in leading newspapers, magazines, T.V, Cinema and through circulars to Universities etc. giving all the details regarding amount of scholarship, age limit, educational qualification, experience etc. Application format is also published in the advertisement.
  • Education and Age Eligibilities vary as different Foreign Education Exams have different criteria for Admission in Foreign Institutes. Criteria also varies from Country to Country.
  • Universities in UK doesn’t require students to under go GRE for the admission into science or other masters programmes. Australia follows the same policy. Most of the US colleges and universities require GRE or more standarised tests for admissions.
  • Students with very good marks like 70% and above marks in English in their 10th and 12th standard might get an English requirement waiver. But it is mandatory to have a decent score inIELTS (usually above 5.5 bands, depending upon the level) in order to apply student visa.
  • Some of the foreign countries also offer scholarships under cultural exchange programmes to eligible candidates who are interested to study in those countries. These scholarships are channelised in India via the Department of Education, Ministry of Human Resource Development.

Foreign Education Examination Pattern and Admission Process
  1. Most standardized tests are designed to measure a student’s skills, rather than a student’s amount of knowledge. The questions in these tests evaluate the ability of candidates to solve problems, not knowledge of facts (such as important historical dates, or parts of the human anatomy).
  2. Each exam has different test pattern, scoring pattern and requires different preparation strategy.
  3. The amount of scholarship you get also depends on your performance in the entrance exams. Therefore, it is very important to get a good score.

  2. GRE - Graduate Record Examination
  3. GMAT - Graduate Management Admission Test
  4. TOEFL - Test of English as a Foreign Language
  5. SAT - Reasoning Test (Formerly known as Scholastic Aptitude Test)
